I can’t believe nearly 3 months is over with since we came back from New Zealand. We leave for Fiji now in about 3 weeks! WOW!
Not much is happening really, just living life. Stressing over money for each of these trips and pay bills and it’s hard because I can’t work. I can’t contribute and I feel bad. Lyn knows it’s not my fault but it’s the sacrafices we have to make. We do take small little day trips here and there to break up the monotony of things. Just a couple weeks ago we took a day trip to Mamu. There is a new Canopy Rainforest Walk there. Not worth the $20 entry fee but nice all the same.
Anyway, our flights are booked. Taking 1 flight to Brisbane, then Brisbane to Nadi (Fiji), staying 4 days, then back again. We got an all inclusive mega deal! The nice thing is that the place we’re staying at is gay/lesbian friendly. That’s always nice! Our package includes all meals, 3 tours, $100 worth of drinks and the roundtrip flights (except for the Cairns to Brisbane portion). So it pretty much cost us the same as our New Zealand trip.
Lyn and I decided to go buy some bathing suits (or costumes as Aussie’s call it). We both bought one-pieces and wore them this past Sunday. It was father’s day for Aussies so we spent the day at the lake. It was overcast, not much sun but certainly enough to burn our backs! OMG the pain! Well, at least we’ll be set for Fiji! LOL!!
I’m thinking about posting pictures of our trips as additional pages. So have a look for those if you’re curious. And I’m going to try and keep this blog updated. Not like anyone really cares but…. I do!

6 more days left before I head off into the sky!! OMG! I’m more excited than anything but still scared shitless! Just about through with everything. I got my cheesy beat-up car sold for $150! YEAH! Hey, I woulda taken $50 for it! This will help with the car rental we got. We rented a one-way and will drop it off at the Vegas airport.
Still miss my boy. So much that if I drop some food on the kitchen floor I’ll holler for him to come eat it up. 
Hate that feeling when he doesn’t come. I’m going to call the quarantine station tonight and see how he’s doing. It’s been a week now that he’s been there. Hope he’s adjusting but not adjusting TOO much!
I received an email from a Website Forum Administrator. He wanted me to write stuff about the U.S. and moving to Australia. He owns Viva Australia Forum. I’ll keep the link over in the Blogroll. The site is just starting out but it’s about traveling and/or relocating to Australia. Pop on over if you’re heading that way and see what it’s about. Anyway, I have this blog going so for me to re-write stuff all over again would just be a nuisance to me and I really don’t have the time. People can come and visit or I’ll link a blog post on their forum if I think it’s of any interest or might help with a visa issue.
I do have to say this one other bit before I go. My ex co-worker found another job and gave her notice! THIS is the blog that I wrote about that. I have to laugh! The company I worked for is gonna DIE!!!! And all I can do is sit here and laugh!

Well I think we got Ty all sorted now. Air New Zealand had given us 3 different Pet Transport companies that they use. Since the first one was the shits, we tried the other two. The second one, the girl would be out of the office until the 17th of April… no good! And then the third, we left a message. “Carol” called us back almost immediately. I think she works by herself because she referred to everything as “I” “I” “I”, there was no “we”. Anyway, I told her my situation and she was more than happy to help. She faxed over a quote and it’s $400 cheaper than the first one. She’s also letting MY vet finish the paperwork and the Certificate A that’s required. So we’re going with her.
Ty will be brought to Carol’s business on Tuesday morning and Carol will prep the rest of the paperwork and then take him to LAX on Wednesday. As for the funds, well, we had to swallow our pride and ask for some help from family members.
A little less stressed now but it still ticks me off about the whole ordeal. Once Ty’s out of the way, I can be more focused on us and getting myself situated with what I”m gonna bring – what my mum will store for me – and what I’ll just leave behind.
18 MORE DAYS! Butterflies but not so much. Probably not until the day before. hmmmmm dunno…. All I know is that I can’t wait!

Well we’re getting down to the nitty gritty now. I called the airline to book Ty’s flight. He’s going to be flying out of the Korean airlines from L.A. to Sydney, but what I found to be an odd way of booking his flight was all done by email. I called, they said they’d email a form to me. I received it just as I was hanging up. I filled out the word document and emailed it back and then got a reply saying they will get back intouch with me with the pertinent information that I need. I hope this doesn’t take too much longer because I need to book him in for his final vet appointment and then call the USDA and make an appt with them to seal the crate. I just don’t want this ticket to be more than what I was quoted when I called. I can’t afford it. Just can’t!
I’m getting a bit nervous since the time is coming closer. I’m on my last week of work. 4 more days left. My last week with Ty. He’ll fly out on the 9th. It’s all happening so quickly now and the days are diminishing quickly! I can’t wait to just get there and get settled.
I found out that my Boss wants me to continue with the website. So we’ll make arrangements and negotiate price which will help with money while I’m overseas but one thing that bothers me is how she’ll pay since they’re company doesn’t use credit cards. And they personally don’t have credit cards either. Hoping maybe I can get her to pay a years worth of work in advance. It’s easy to update the websites, takes me 5 mins. and I know they’re going under so-to-speak so I’ll keep the cost down a bit. Hoping we discuss things soon. So glad that I’ll be leaving there!

So begins the countdown and it’s gonna go fast! Two weeks left to work and the more I think about it the more I start getting nervous. Those butterflies are starting to invade my belly. Only got a couple at the moment. I need to start paying attention to my feelings and putting the tools I learned on the Anxiety website to use.
Lyn’s sister and brother-in-law are looking into buying a business. A graphic design business which is right up my alley. I know I won’t be able to work for a year at least, but if they do buy this business, I’ll definitely have a job waiting. I hope they do!
School is going good still. I just finished Psychology, passed with an A. My current class that’s just starting is Personal Finance Concept. Oh joy! I won’t be able to complete the last assignment tho because it cuts into my travel time to Australia. I emailed my instructor but he hasn’t replied back. It’s a group project so getting it done early isn’t possible. I hope I hear back from him or I’ll be writing to my Student Advisor, of which will only tell me to write to my instructor and around and around I’ll go.
